Not Very Cherry
I had this whole post planned out about different kinds of cherries and why some are better than others and how the cherry is such a wonderful garnish. I even had this awesome picture planned out in my head, and the lighting this morning is just ever so perfect. But, then I spent 15 minutes trying, unsuccessfully, to open a jar of spirited cherries. I tried all the tricks. I hit the jar lid on the edge with a wooden spoon. I ran the jar under hot water. I tried one of those clingy textured jar opener grip things. No luck. No luck at all.

So, now all I have to show for my efforts is this picture of a lonely maraschino cherry on a spoon. Next week, I will have a lengthier post about the kinds of cherries available for drinks. And, I will also have a picture showcasing multiple kinds of cherry — as soon as I can get the damn jar open.
And, in the interim, I ask you: What type or brand of cocktail cherry do you prefer? Or, do you hate cherries entirely?
